Did you recently buy a firearm online or out of state, or even from another Illinois resident?
We charge $30 for all transfers. $35 if additional paperwork is required. See steps below.
The ATF requires firearms for an Ilinois resident be transferred through an Illinois dealer. Liberated Arms is a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) and licensed Illinois Firearms Dealer that can help transfer the firearm to you. We've been providing firearms transfer services in Colona, IL and the entire Quad Cities for over 10 years and can efficiently handle your transaction.
If you purchased your firearm from another Illinois resident, you would both bring it to us to do the ATF transfer paperwork (all regular transfer charges apply) OR.... you would be required to do the transfer through the Illinois State Police Firearms Services Bureau. It includes a free background check you will need to perform to create paperwork with the firearm and background check information and then bring it to an Illinois dealer and pay them to maintain the paperwork you created for 20 years (seller needs to maintain the paperwork for 10 years). We charge $25 to take on and store the paperwork. It's just easier to have us do all the paperwork.

Liberated Arms will file all the necessary paperwork and perform a background check to make sure you meet all the federal and Illinois guidelines for firearms purchases. Note that Illinois firearms transfers require a 72 hour waiting period following the purchase of the firearm and require an approved background check to release the firearm to you.
STEPS TO TAKE if you are purchasing an online firearm:
Do your online purchase and during checkout select Liberated Arms as your FFL dealer. Please send us notice that you have purchased the firearm - you can forward the confirmation email to info@liberatedarms.com.
When the firearm arrives we will contact you to come fill out the paperwork and perform the background check.
If your background check is approved and it has been 72 hours since you purchased the firearm, we can complete the transfer and you can transport it home.
If your background check approval is delayed, and/or it has not been 72 hours since you purchased the firearm, you will need to return to us at a later date to perform the final transfer to transport it home.
PLEASE NOTE: Background checks must be approved AND the waiting period observed before we can transfer the firearm to you. You must transport the firearm from our site in the manner you can legally transport it.
